It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jorgé, aka Mr. Handsome. On July 22, 2026, Jorge was laid to rest after complications from the extreme heat. He was born on June 14, 2021.
Jorgé was an exceptional stallion throughout his life and enjoyed a long, successful show career. He was started under saddle by Kurt Kovalick and earned several wins under his direction. In 2007, Jorgé earned the Amateur Owned & Trained World Championship with Chad Adams. In 2008, he was purchased by Gerald and Katherine Wardlow.
From 2008 to 2012, Jorgé was under the direction of Kevin Gower, where he captured numerous 15.2 & Under and Stake class victories. He later moved to Southern Serenity with Howard Hamilton, where both Howard and Gerald successfully campaigned him in amateur and open competition. In 2015, Jorgé retired to Tina Wooley's farm, where he spent his retirement surrounded by love and exceptional care.
Known affectionately as "Mr. Handsome", Jorgé was as kind and loving as he was talented. His gentle nature and affectionate personality earned him countless admirers wherever he went. As a sire, he produced several outstanding colts that have gone on to become exceptional in their own right. Jorgé touched the lives of so many and created memories that will be treasured forever. While our hearts are broken, we are grateful for every moment we were blessed to share with him.
Rest easy, Jorgé. You will never be forgotten and you will forever be missed.
