Friday, June 27, 2025

Gregory “Greg” Wayne Mooningham, 57, of Bayboro, NC, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at CarolinaEast Medical Center.
Greg was a man who lived life with passion, kindness, and a deep love for both people and animals. A dedicated Tennessee Walking Horse trainer, he poured his heart into his work at Fulcher’s Red Fox Stables, where he trained numerous world champion horses.
He attended Motion Church, where his faith was a source of strength and comfort throughout his life. Outside of his work, Greg found joy in the simple pleasures – deer hunting, fishing, and especially dancing. His fun-loving spirit and natural rhythm made him the life of any gathering.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Janice Mooningham; brothers, Billy Joe, Terry, and Calvin Mooningham; and niece, Brandie Buyajian.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of nearly 32 years, Michelle Mooningham; his children, Kayla Williams (Colby), Morgan Mooningham (Jeremy), and Lucas Mooningham (Sydni); sisters, Mary Ellen Clay (Chris) and Creda Tucker; and five cherished grandchildren, Abel, Julian, and Elijah Williams and Ava and Finn Douell.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to Daniels-Sadler Funeral Home, PO Box 99, Alliance, NC 28509.
