Obituary – Rhonda Ingle

Mrs. Rhonda Cheryl Holt Ingle, age 67, wife of Rickey Ingle, of 432 Police Club Rd., Union, passed away doing what she loved the most, Monday, September 25, 2023, at her home.
Mrs. Ingle was born December 22, 1955, in Union, a daughter of the late Charlie Holt and Bill and Jeanette Evans. She was a graduate of Jonesville High School and received a Bachelor of Arts and Science from the University of South Carolina. Mrs. Ingle received a master’s degree from Gardner Webb University. She retired in 2016 from Spartanburg Regional after over 40 years in healthcare. She had previously worked as an Administrative Cast Member at Walt Disney World in Orlando in the 1980s. Mrs. Ingle served as Board Chair at Wallace Thomson Hospital. She was an advocate for NAMI Work. She was an active member of the Church of Nativity. Mrs. Ingle was an avid horse woman and was a member of the South Carolina Tennessee Walking Horse Owners Association where she served as secretary and Spartanburg Horse Owners Association and others.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Danny Cannon and wife Tammy of Jonesville; a daughter, Ashleigh Wynn of Union; a sister, Reba Vinson and husband Russell of Jonesville; three grandsons, Raylan Wynn, Evan Wynn, and Taegan Bishop; many other special family members and a host of beloved friends.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, September 30, 2023, at the Episcopal Church of Nativity, (320 S. Church St., Union) conducted by the Rev. Wayman Henry.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 29, 2023, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home (310 W. South Street, Union).

The family is at the home of her daughter, Ashleigh Wynn, 476 Police Club Rd., Union, SC 29379.

The Horse Protection Act (HPA) was passed in 1970 to eliminate the practice of “soring,” which involves intentionally causing pain to a horse’s feet or legs to exaggerate its gait. While originally aimed at gaited breeds like the Tennessee Walking Horse, the HPA is not exclusive to gaited horse breeds, and its future direction should concern all horse owners, exhibitors, professionals and enthusiasts.
